Technical Compute Performance with Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2600 v4 Product Family
Bring your business’s best ideas to life by transforming big data and real-time analytics into new business opportunities while ensuring the reliability and uptime of the most business-critical services with the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v4 product family.
Technical computing is the application of the mathematical and computational principles of scientific computing to solve practical problems of industrial interest. The distinction between technical computing and scientific computing is similar to the distinction between high-performance computing and high-performance technical computing. Technical computing may involve the use of large-scale high-performance systems.
Floating Point Throughput with SPECfp*_rate_base2006
This CPU-intensive benchmark suite, stressing a system's processor, memory subsystem, and compiler providing a comparative measure of compute-intensive performance across the widest practical range of hardware using workloads developed from real user applications. Rate results measure the throughput of multiple tasks. The metrics are based on a geometric mean of normalized ratios. CFP2006 is for measuring and comparing compute-intensive floating point performance across 17 workloads or tasks. For more information, see www.spec.org/cpu2006.

Open MP performance with SPECompG*_base2012
Containing a suite of 14 end-user applications that focuses on parallel computing performance using the OpenMP parallelism standard, this benchmark is based on compute-intensive applications that emphasize the performance of the computer processor, memory architecture, parallel support libraries, and the compilers. The performance metric shown is calculated from the geometric mean of 14 normalized ratios when the applications are compiled with consistent compiler options across all programs of a given language (eight use Fortran, five use C, and one uses C++). For more information, see http://spec.org/omp2012/.
