Intel Anchors Oregon’s Economy
Intel’s operations in Oregon stretch across six campuses west of Portland in Washington County. The campuses comprise Intel’s largest and most comprehensive site in the world—a global center of semiconductor research and manufacturing and the anchor of Oregon’s economy. The company has nearly 17,000 employees in Oregon, making it the state’s largest private employer.

Since 1974, when Intel acquired its first property in Oregon, the company’s capital investments in the state have topped $25 billion. That amount will increase significantly with the addition of Mod I and Mod II at D1X, the new development fabrication facility under construction through 2015, at the Ronler Acres Campus. Intel is the largest property taxpayer in Washington County, with payments of approximately $30 million a year.

In 2012, Intel was named the “Most Admired Technology Company” in Oregon for the eighth year in a row, based on a survey of 2,500 CEOs and top-level managers throughout the state. In addition, Intel was recognized, for the fifth time, as the “Most Philanthropic Company” in Oregon.
